FANTASTIC, FRIENDLY FAIRBANKS

Bill at the Alaska Pipeline. We were on our way to the mountains surrounding Fairbanks to pan for gold. Gold didn't pan out!!! All those people in the background were off of cruise line tour busses--they are EVERYWHERE! Cannot blame 'em, as our 49th state IS special!
We're staying here - can you believe it? Since I collect Santas, this seems quite appropriate. Incidentallly, Santa Land RV Park in North Pole, AK, is one of the cleanest, nicest, well-run, and congenial places we've stayed in seven weeks. If you find yourself up here in an rv, check it out! Gretchen at the Chena River Boat tour - a real nice 3 1/2 hrs. Well worth the money (GIGANTIC praise from Bill, who can be a tad tight!). This was one of the highlights of our seven-day stay in Fairbanks. Gretchen googling the real Iditarod dogs. These guys are the sprinters of the mushing world-- boy, can they rip!! They are the Top Guns of the dog-sled racing community. Also, they are extremely sweet guys. What a special treat to see them up close and personal!
