From Minin' to Mushin'

Gretchen with Martin Buser - four time Ididarod Champ. We spent 2 hours with him on a personal tour of his kennel and dog sled demo. This ranks with Denali as a highlight of our trip. If you look closely they are both holding 12 day-old puppies. A real treat.

Independence mine where gold was actively mined until the fifties(1950's that is). A beautiful drive up there on the way to Hatcher pass which was still closed due to snow!
